What data we collect

We collect data you provide directly and data generated automatically when you use the site.

Data you provide

• Account information — email address when you create an account
• Payment information — processed securely by Stripe; we do not see or store card details
• Search queries — what you type into the framework search
• Usage data — bookmarks, frameworks you view, and Boardroom seats you download

Data collected automatically

• Visit data — a randomly generated visitor ID, the pages you view, the referring site, and your browser user-agent string. We do not store your IP address against these records.
• Analytics data — aggregate page views and performance data collected by Vercel Analytics

How we use your data

• To provide and maintain your account and subscription
• To enforce plan limits, such as the monthly allowance on free accounts
• To save your bookmarks and record which Boardroom seats you hold, so we can tell you when a seat has been updated
• To process payments through Stripe
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets, billing receipts)
• To run search — see “AI processing of search queries” below
• To improve the product based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns

AI processing of search queries

When you search the framework library, the text of your query is sent to two third-party AI providers so we can return relevant results: Anthropic, to expand your query into related search terms, and Voyage AI, to generate a numerical embedding for semantic matching and to rank the results.

Your query is not sent with your name or email address. Please avoid entering confidential or personal information into the search box.

Legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)

• Contract — to provide the service you signed up for
• Legitimate interest — to improve the product, understand how the site is used, and prevent abuse
• Consent — for marketing communications and non-essential cookies
• Legal obligation — to retain transaction records for tax and accounting purposes

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with services essential to running the platform:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting
• Stripe — payment processing
• Vercel — website hosting and analytics
• Anthropic — search query expansion
• Voyage AI — search embeddings and result ranking

Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain transaction records for tax purposes. Aggregated and anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

International transfers

Some of our service providers (Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, Anthropic, Voyage AI) process data in the United States. These transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses.

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
